Q:

How does on-demand couture work?

A:

Once you’ve entered your measurements, a personalized pattern is created and housed in our Atelier. You can then shop our latest collections and select what you love; your measurements are automatically applied to your order. Once your order is received, a Fit Concierge will confirm every detail and create an impeccably crafted, custom garment specific to your unique shape and size. Measurements can also be updated at any time for future orders in your account profile.

Q:

What if I don’t know my measurements?

A:

Follow our fit tutorial, use our integrated measurement system, or request a Fit Folio, which has everything you need to get started.  Still have questions? speak with our Fit Concierge, who can be reached by calling (800) 674-7819.

Q:

How can Careste prices be 50% - 75% lower than comparable luxury brands?

A:

We are online-only without the many layers of overhead of other luxury brands, which operate bricks and mortar stores, warehouses full of inventory, sales networks and runway shows.

Q:

How long will it take to get my order?

A:

It normally takes 8 days to make your unique top and 3-5 days to deliver it to your door.

Q:

Where do you ship?

A:

Currently we only ship within the United States, but global shipping will be available in the near future.

Q:

How can I track my order?

A:

Head to our tracking page to check the shipping status of your order.

Q:

Do you accept returns?

A:

We do. But before you return your item, please know we offer one free alteration per garment. If you’d still like to make a return, log into your account and select “Returns”.

Q:

What if I'm not happy with the fit?

A:

We offer one free alteration with every garment.  You can speak with our Fit Concierge by calling (800) 674-7819, or email info@careste.com for assistance.

Q:

How long does it take to receive a refund?

A:

Refunds are issued upon receipt of returned items, but may take a few days to appear on your statement depending on the bank.

Q:

Do you ever bring back limited edition prints?

A:

Unfortunately no. Like a fine art print, these special fabric designs are exclusive to Careste and created in small batches, never to be seen on a garment again.

Q:

What is Careste's Couture?

A:

It refers to made-to-measure garments cut, sewn, and finished to your specific measurements.  Each design that you select from our original, seasonal collections is individually crafted to exacting standards from specially woven, dyed and finished fabrics.   We invite comparisons.

Our methods differ from the term "Haute Couture,” which is protected by French law and is defined by the Paris Chamber of Commerce (Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris). To earn the right to use the term Haute Couture in its advertising and any other way, a fashion house must “design” and “make” unique garments for private clients, with one or more fittings, operate an atelier in Paris and present collections to the Paris press at least twice per year. Often, these garments are hand stitched and sell for tens of thousands of dollars.
